Kenya: Artisan Wins Sh200,000 in Lottery

A Jua Kali artisan in Nyeri won Sh200,000 after buying a Sh100 ticket. Norman Maina Kariuki, who is a regular buyer of Kenya Charity Sweepstake tickets, had never won before. He bought the ticket three days ago.

"I have always bought KCS tickets. This is the first time for me to win. My day finally came," said the artisan while receiving his prize. Speaking on Saturday outside the vendor's shop where Kariuki bought the ticket, Kenya Charity Sweepstake administrative officer Jennifer Kilonzo congratulated Kariuki while displaying the dummy cheque. She urged more people to participate in the game. Kilonzo said the funds raised through the charity are for a noble cause.
