ANTI Terror Police officers yesterday seized two most wanted terror suspects and recovered a number of explosive devices packed in a pick-up car at Changamwe, Mombasa. Izak Noor and Abdiaziz Abdi were planning to detonate explosives targeting unspecific buildings in Mombasa county.

They were arraigned in court last evening to answer to various charges. A combined team of bomb experts including foreigners were frantically attempting to detonate the highly powerful bombs. At one point the experts took cover fearing for their lives. The area was cordoned off by officers from the ATPU and Crime Scene.

According to police sources the two were being monitored after Kenya security agencies were tipped over an impending terror attack.

The two suspects of Somalia origin are being held at Port police station under interrogation. Top security chiefs among them county CID boss Henry Ondiek and his police counterpart were leading the operation. "We will address the media after we are done with our investigation; it's a very delicate issue we are handling now," he said.
