Kenya: Cops Charged With Stealing

A Kiambu court has acquitted three Administration Police officers charged jointly with stealing two G3 rifles with 40 bullets after the prosecution failed to prove their case.Moses Mugendi, Philip Kamara and George Kamuya were set free by principal magistrate C C Oluoch. Oluoch said the prosecution did not not give sufficient evidence but presented conflicting evidence.

The three were charged of stealing the guns and ammunitions on the night on October 13 and 14 last year at Karia market in Kiambu county. The prosecution said the stolen property belonged to the national government. The cops were also charged with failing to prevent the loss of the 2 guns and 40 rounds of ammunition, valued at Sh189,3
