Gambian Striker in Relegation Play-Off

It is a moment regarded a low point in players' careers when relegation stares in the face and it certainly was for Gambian striker Ibou Sawaneh and his club over the weekend. Even with a victory over fellow strugglers Mons last Sunday in a relegation playoff dog fight Ibou and his Belgian club OHL would still have to get through the excruciating play-offs after Wasaaland Beveren settled for one-all stalemate with table-topping Standard Leige.

Beveren's point-sharing ruined the stakes for OHL lost to a stunningly improved Mons who sit rock bottom in the league regular season albeit the rare victory doesn't see them avoid the play-off either.
