Kenya: CCK's Slow Paper Work Raising Illegal Couriers

Delays in licencing of courier firms has forced many to operate illegally, a study commissioned by the Communications Authority of Kenya has established. The report advices CCK to shorten its application processing to properly regulate the industry. However this not-withstanding, CCK has cautioned customers against using such unlicenced firms as it poses a threat to their parcels.

The Communication Authority of Kenya director general, Francis Wangusi said most unaccredited couriers are operating outside Nairobi and the authority will establish regional offices in Mombasa and Eldoret so as to minimise unauthorised operation.
