Gambia: Arrest Warrant Issued Against Witness

The Bundung Magistrates' Court, presided over by Principal Magistrate Ibrahim Kijera yesterday issued an arrest warrant against one Sainabou Cham, a prosecution witness who supposed to testify in a criminal case involving one Ida Mbye.

When the case was called, Corporal 3533 Jarju, applied for a bench warrant to be issued against PW3, Sainabou Cham, to come and testify in the case. The prosecutor said the witness was aware of the date, and she was deliberately absent in court, adding that the last time they issued a subpoena for her to come but she refused to come to court.
