Sudan: Militiamen Rape, Kidnap Displaced Near Nyala, South Darfur

Nyala — Pro-government militiamen raped four girls in the area of Hijer, southeast of Nyala, South Darfur, and kidnapped them together with two men.

Newly displaced people from Hijer and Um Gunja and neighboring villages told the general coordinator of Kalma camp that Sudanese Rapid Support Forces (RSF) assaulted and looted their villages. "The RSF then raped four girls, one of them a minor, in front of them", Yakoub Mohamed Abdullah told Radio Dabanga. "After the rape, they kidnapped the girls, together with El Tayeb Mohamed Yahya (28 years old) and Abda Adam Boy (26)."
