Algiers — Algeria's presidential campaigns begin on Sunday (March 23rd). Twelve politicians applied to run but only six made the cut.
President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, former premier Ali Benflis, Algerian National Front (FNA) chairman Moussa Touati, Workers' Party (PT) leader Louisa Hanoune, Ahd 54 chief Ali Fawzi Rebaine and El Moustakbel Front (FM) President Abdelaziz Belaid won approval from the Constitutional Council on March 13th.
