Nigeria: Gunmen Attack Mark's Convoy in Imo

Omololu Ogunmade The convoy of Senate President David Mark was friday attacked in Orlu area of Imo State on his way to the burial ceremony of a late business mogul, Sir John Richard Anyaehie, in Nkwerre Community.

According to Mark's Chief Press Secretary, Paul Mumeh, the gunmen suspected to be armed robbers shot the convoy but Mark was not in it neither was any life lost in the incident.

An online medium, 247ureport.com, said Mark lamented the incident, saying such act was not expected in a notable senatorial zone like Orlu, moreso, at the time that a great philanthropist like Anyaehie was being buried.
