Eritrea: Inhabitants of Metkel-Abet Administrative Area Conduct Popular Campaign

Metkel-Abet — The inhabitants of Metkel-Abet administrative area, Ginda sub-zone conducted popular campaigns aimed at renovation of micro-dams and water diversion canals.

Mr. Mohammed-Ali Musa and Mr. Mahmud Turky indicated that the popular campaigns have been aimed at conservation of soil and water and with that to be able to increase agricultural production, and that they have been working diligently for the success of the program.

Mr. Osman Mohammed-Ali, administrator of the area, indicated that the inhabitants have been engaged in renovation activity of the damaged micro-dam, and called for machinery assistance.

Likewise, Mr. Omar Yahia, Administrator of Ginda sub-zone called on the inhabitants to finalize preparation of lands for agriculture before the coming of the big rainy season.
