Kenya: Night Discos to Be Banned
By Kerubo Lornah
KILIFI county assembly may pass a motion to ban night discos. Marafa ward representative Renson Kambi said night discos during weddings and funerals have increased immorality in the county. Speaking in Marafa yesterday, Kambi said discos are rampant in Kilifi.
He noted that many youngsters engage in sexual activities while pretending to be attending the funeral or wedding discos. The leader said many youth are introduced to alcohol and drug abuse. "Many girls and boys do not have morals. Many have dropped out of school because of early pregnancies. Others have been infected with STDs while others are drug and alcohol abusers," he said.
