Kenya: Equity Employs 410 KCSE Bright Students

EQUITY Bank has absorbed 410 students who excelled in last year's KCSE examination. Under the Equity African Leadership Programme, the students will work in the bank's various branches countrywide. The successful candidates, most of whom were in the top 100 slots nationally, will earn Sh30,000 per month, as they wait to join various universities.

Congratulating them on their appointments, Equity CEO James Mwangi assured them of his support to help actualise their dreams. Mwangi urged them to follow their desires while pursuing higher education and avoid being misled by external forces.

"Do your course based on your personal drive and don't contradict your desires," he said. Mwangi said out of the Sh30,000 salary, each employee will take home Sh10,000 per month while the remaining Sh20,000 will be saved in their accounts until they join university. Mwangi asked them to pursue courses that will enable them contribute to the country's development.
