Kenya: World Consumer Rights Day Celebrated

To mark this year's World Consumer Rights Day, the Competition Authority of Kenya in association with the Communication Commission of Kenya, Kenya Consumer Protection Advisory Committee and the Consumer Federation of Kenya held celebrations at the KICC last Saturday.

World Consumer Rights Day was established on March 15, 1983 to promote consumer rights around the world. This year's theme touched on consumer issues that are undermining and frustrating the success of mobile phone services.

In attendance was Kenya Bankers Association's director of communications and public affairs Nuru Mugambi, Consumer Fedaration of Kenya chairman Ephraim Kanake, CCK Licencing and Compliance assistant director Liston Kirui, CAK director general Wang'ombe Kariuki, Airtel regulatory affairs director Alice King'ori-Kariuki and CAK head of communication & external affairs Lizz Ntonjira.
