Nigeria: Fish Ponds Re-Ignite Age-Long Hostility in Kogi

Lokoja — The age-long hostility between Abujaga and Aluaja communities in Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State has been re-ignited, thus puncturing the peace hitherto enjoyed in the area. According to residents, it was the fish ponds at Abujaga community that re-ignited the hostility, which led to severe injuries and destruction of property.

Sunday Trust gathered that the hostility, which dates back to 1959, was as a result of the ownership of land and fish ponds in the area.
