Kenya: Scrap Seats to Save Cash, Says Khaniri

VIHIGA Senator George Khaniri has backed calls for the reduction of elective positions to avoid confusion and cut down on administrative costs. Khaniri said the nominated posts are unnecessary and an extra burden to the taxpayers.

"We don't need women representatives, nominated senators, MPs and MCAs because they don't have clear job description," Khaniri said on Sunday. He said calls to amend the constitution to cut the wage bill are premature and unacceptable.
