Tunisia: Marzouki-Alkhazai Talk in Kuwait

Kuwait City — The files of the Tunisian inmates in Iraqi prisons was the focus of the talk that Caretaker President Moncef Marzouki had, Tuesday in Kuwait city, with Iraqi Vice-President Khadhir Al-Khazai, on the fringes of the 25th session of the Arab League Summit.

According to a member of the Tunisian official delegation, Al-Khazai asserted the determination of the Iraqi government to strive for the settlement of the file either through the release of the inmates or by their repatriation to serve the rest of their sentence in the Tunisian prisons.

He underlined that the two countries' Foreign Ministers ensure the follow-up of this file.

The same source said that the talk turned on the bilateral co-operation and means to develop it notably in the economic field by means of encouraging Iraqi businessmen to invest in Tunisia.

The Arab League Summit started, Tuesday, in the Bayane palace, in Kuwait city, with the participation of 13 Arab leaders.
