Liberia: Gov't Ready to Fight Traffickers

The Government has issued a stern warning of zero tolerance against human trafficking and announced readiness to combat and prosecute perpetrators. The pronouncement was made Tuesday, March 25 at the Monrovia City Hall, where the government launched a five-year national action plan in the fight against trafficking in persons.

Liberia's partners, including the UN and the United States graced the occasion when President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, in launching the action plan, said Liberia wants to tell the rest of the world as well as 'would be perpetrators' the government is ready to combat "this serious crime that affects the lives of people, especially women and children."
