Kenya: Road to Ease Traffic Jams

The Sh45 million road wil be expanded to a dual carriageway to make sure public service vehicles and trailers do not use the same route. The project is going to be funded by the county government of Mombasa.

"Construction is starting soon, people are getting stuck in unnecessary jams for six to eight hours due to heavy trucks that are transporting goods" said Twalib. He said the contractor who was awarded the contract did a shoddy job. Twalib said all the roads the contractor was building were left uncompleted. The legislator said it will also expand Jomvu town making roads accessible and beefing up security will be easy.
