Tunisia: 7+7 Committee Between Government and UGTT Meets

Tunis, — The joint 7+7 Committee bringing together representatives of the government and the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) discussed, at a meeting Wednesday, the country's economic and social situation, stressing commitment to respect the agreements signed, according to a Prime Ministry press release.

During the meeting, it was decided to fine-tune the organisation of the national economic conference scheduled next May 2014.

The meeting also reviewed major mechanisms to address precariousness and unemployment.

Social problems facing several sectors as well as the situation of social funds to reform the sector as part of the Social Pact were discussed during the meeting, the same source said.
