Kenya: Sony Sugar Alarmed By Imports

SONY Sugar Company acting MD Pamela Odhiambo has said illegal sugar imports are crippling the subsector. Odhiambo said the firm owes farmers Sh400 million due to illegal sugar imports.

She said laxity by security organs and weak government policies have aided smuggling of illegal sugar into the market. Odhiambo was speaking to the Star in her office yesterday.
