Liberia: PUL Opens Book of Condolence for Journalist Jerome Toe

The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) will on Friday, March 28, open a Book of Condolence in memory of fallen Liberian journalist Jerome Toe at its Clay Street headquarters in Monrovia. The Book will be opened at 11 am, and the Union is calling on media practitioners and members of the public to turn out to sign in memory of the fallen journalist. Jerome passed off Sunday night (March 8) at the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital, following a brief illness.

The PUL described the death of Toe as a serious blow to the journalism profession in the country. PUL President Abdullai Kamara described Jerome as one dedicated to journalism, as he was prepared to work both in print and electronic journalism, noting that his absence leaves a great vacuum in the media of our country. Prior to opening the New Nation Newspaper, Jerome worked with the state-owned Liberia Broadcasting System.
