Maputo — No advance was made towards disarming Mozambique's former rebel movement Renamo at a further session of the dialogue between the government and Renamo held on Wednesday.
Instead Renamo threw up a new obstacle, insisting that what it calls a “ceasefire” should be discussed separately from and before the disarming of Renamo's gunmen. The government, however, does not use the term “ceasefire” (because a ceasefire was signed in 1992, and has been violated by Renamo).
