Angola: Parliament President Happy With Windhoek Meeting

Speaker of the Angolan Parliament, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, expressed in Windhoek his satisfaction at the results of the meeting of the Executive Committee of SADC Parliamentary Forum.

"The meeting was essentially aimed to assess the activities developed by the committee and we seized the occasion to discuss the organisational situations of the committee ", said the Angolan top MP.

According to him, it was also analysed strategic plan for 2014-2019 period that will be presented in the next multi-partite assembly to be hosted by Mauritius in June this year.

The meeting equally analysed the report of the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Forum , regarding the period of November 2013 to March 2014.

The meeting took place in the city of Windhoek on 27-28 March and it was led by the president of the Executive Committee of SADC Parliamentary Forum, Peeroo Adbool Razack Ameen.

Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos has already returned to Luanda on Friday.

The Parliamentary Forum of Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) was created on 8 September 1997 at SADC Heads of States and Governments summit held in Windhoek, Republic of Namibia. It gathers Parliaments of States in the region, aiming to establish cooperation between the representatives of citizens.
