Kenya: BOC Raises Dividend Payout

BOC Kenya's board has recommended a final dividend of Sh2.60 per share, raising the total dividend payout to Sh5.20 per share in 2013 after registering a profit growth.

The firm's profit after tax rose slightly to Sh202.64 million from Sh197.37 million in 2012, a 2.7 per cent increase despite a drop in revenues.

It paid a dividend of Sh5.05 per share in the previous year. Revenue for the year ended December 31 was Sh1.24 billion, down four per cent, it said in a statement on Friday. "Although there was a drop in revenue, earnings... increased," read a statement signed by company secretary Virginia Ndunge. BOC produces and supplies industrial and medical gases and equipment.
