Ethiopia Keen to Endorse Anti-Desertification Scheme

Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn announced on Wednesday (March 26) that Ethiopia was keen to support and strengthen the Pan-African Agency of the Great Green Wall of the Sahara and the Sahel Initiative aimed at preventing desertification and drought as well as mitigating the social, economic and environmental impacts of land degradation and desertification in the Sahel and the Sahara.

In talks with Mauritanian Environment Minister, Amedi Camara, the Prime Minister underlined that Ethiopia would endorse the pact to combat natural resources degradation and drought in rural areas in collaboration with countries of the Sahel and the Sahara.
