Banjul-based airline, 'gambia bird', has extended its operations to three new destinations in West Africa following what officials say is its success in the aviation industry within just 18 months of business.
The three new routes that were launched at a colourful reception at a hotel in Bijilo will now see the young airline operate from its home base of Banjul, to Guinea-Bissau, Lagos -Nigeria and Douala, Cameroon, as well as from each of the new destinations to other points across the airline's growing network. Officials say the new service will allow 'gambia bird' to double the number of connections previously offered, with 25 connections each week from Senegal, 20 from Banjul, 20 from Freetown, 15 from Lagos and 18 from Liberia. The flight to the fourth new destination, Conakry, will be launched as soon as local conditions allow, officials added.
