Tunisia: First Arab Maghreb Union S-G Mohamed Amamou Dies At 81

Tunis, — The first Secretary-General of the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU) Mohamed Amamou died, on Sunday, at the age of 81, Sunday, The Foreign Affairs Ministry announced.

He was one of the most prominent figures in the Tunisian diplomacy during the second half of the last century, the ministry said in an obituary notice, reminding that he served in many senior level positions, basically in diplomacy, including as Tunisia's ambassador in several Arab and African countries as well as diplomatic advisor to the Presidency of the Republic.
