Egypt: Cabinet Reviews New Project to Upgrade Railways

The Cabinet, under Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab, reviewed on Thursday 27/3/2014 a new project to upgrade Egypt's railway system.

The project, which has been presented by Transport Minister Ibrahim el-Demeiry, aims at upgrading the national railways to meet the international standards and the growing demand in terms of both passenger and freight traffic.

The Cabinet has assigned the transport minister to speed up carrying out the economic studies of the project.
