Egypt: Environment Minister - Egypt Should Not Depend On Foreign Energy Sources

Environment Minister Laila Iskandar said Egypt should not depend on foreign energy sources to meet its needs, expressing strong rejection of the use of coal as a source of energy.

"We should not wait for 30 years to see all Egyptians suffering from health problems due to the use of coal and the pollution it would be causing to the environment," Iskandar said.
