Egypt: Police Arrest 61 Pro-Brotherhood Protesters

Cairo — The police arrested 61 Pro-Muslim Brotherhood protesters across Egypt on Friday, said an interior ministry statement.

The arrested possessed firearms and Molotov cocktails, according to the statement.

The statement added that a Brotherhood leader was among the arrested.

Security forces dispersed demonstrations supporting former President Mohamed Mursi in several governorates.

The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy has called for week-long protests starting Friday to support the "students' movement."

At least five people were killed last week during clashes.
