Egypt: U.S.$ 800 Million for a Railway Project in Cooperation With China

Transport Minister Ibrahim El-Demiry held a meeting on Thursday 03/04/2014 with Chinese Ambassador in Cairo Song Aiguo to discuss cooperation in the field of railways.

A memorandum of understanding regarding a railway project, connecting Al-Salam city, Cairo province with Belbies, Sharkeya province, was signed by Mahmoud Gamal, the Transport Minister's advisor and Ma Gangon, the Chinese commercial attaché.

El-Demiry said that this project, which costs $800 million, supports educational, industrial and trade institutions on both sides of this railway axis and contributes to the reduction of accidents and pollution levels.
