Gambia: CRR Governor Inaugurates New Lower Basic School

CRR — The governor of the Central River Region (CRR), Alhaji Ganyie Touray last Friday inaugurated a new Lower Basic School at Lamin Koto Badala, in Sami District, Central River Region north. Theo and Abdoulie Charitable Foundation, funded the construction of the school and the beneficiary communities are Badala, Lamin Koto, Koli Kunda and Sotokoi.

In his inaugural address, Governor Touray spoke extensively on the importance of education towards national development. He said education breeds' essential contributions in the achievement of national development. According to him, education prepares citizens to be self-reliant, independent, obedient and loyal to the state. He thus called on the beneficiary communities to make best use of the school by sending their children to school and allow them to complete their circle of education. The CRR governor commended Theo and Abdoulie Charitable Foundation for complementing government efforts by providing a school to the community, saying education is President Jammeh's topmost development agenda.
