Nigeria: Zamfara Attacks - IGP Orders Massive Deployment of Special Forces

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar has ordered the immediate deployment of a huge contingent of police personnel to stop the recurrent attacks by criminal elements in villages Zamfara State.

"Ten Units of Police Mobile Force (PMF), Three Units of Conventional Policemen, a Unit of Counter-Terrorism personnel, Border Patrol Teams and Force Intelligence personnel drawn from various Squadrons and Commands are to reinforce the operation of the existing Force in the affected areas," a statement by the force spokesman CSP Frank Mba said.
