Dar es Salaam — Tanzanians will have to wait a little longer to see their country's new constitution enacted after the Constituent Assembly requested an extension of its term until August.
The assembly requested the extension to allow the lawmakers who make up the body more time to debate and approve the national budget for the next fiscal year, scheduled to start May 9th and end in June. The lawmakers will then take one month leave and return in August to continue deliberation on the draft constitution.
