West Africa: Dimension Data Expands West Africa Presence

Accra — DIMENSION Data, the global technology solutions and services provider, has opened an office in Ghana as a move to deepen its presence in West Africa.

"We are excited to be expanding our African footprint. The market in West Africa is growing, and Ghana is going to play a key role in our growth journey," stated Emerging Markets Executive for Middle East and Africa at Dimension Data, Rakesh Parbhoo.

The Managing Director for Dimension Data West Africa, Glad Dibetso, added the company looked forward to working closely with its clients to accelerate their business ambitions.

The Dimension Data group employs 37 permanent staff in Ghana and plans are underway to increase the company's system integration skills and expertise over the next 12 months, providing opportunities to young local talents, he noted.

Executive for Strategic Relations Dimension Data Middle East and Africa, Zellah Fuphe told journalists in Accra that the company was focus on making sure the organisation extended its quality yet affordable products and services across the African continent.

The firm has been operating in the West African market for a decade.

It has a presence in Nigeria, through its subsidiary, Plessey and Internet Solutions.

Local IT firms welcomed its expansion to the region.

"Dimension Data is a key strategic partner to Cisco globally. We have partnered with Dimension Data for many years across many markets.

"We therefore look forward to working with Dimension Data in Ghana and expanding our global alliance in yet another territory," Cisco's General Manager for West Africa , Oludare Ogunlade said.

Microsoft's Ghana Manager, Otema Yirenkyi, concurred.

"Microsoft has operated in the Ghanaian market through our partner ecosystem for over 10 years," Yirenkyi added.
