Morocco: Abduction of Sahrawi Political Prisoners From Prison of Ait Melloul

Ait Melloul — The Moroccan intelligence services kidnapped Saturday Saharawi political prisoner Salek Lasairy from the prison of Ait Melloul, Morocco, and took him to an unknown destination.

His abduction, which has reached the eighth day without revealing his whereabouts, came as a punishment for arguing with a prison staff about his rights.

The Association for the Protection of Sahrawi prisoners in Moroccan prisons condemned these practises against the Sahrawi political prisoner, appealing to human rights organizations to intervene urgently to uncover the fate of the Saharawi political prisoner, Salek Lasairy, and to open an investigation on what he is subjected to.
