Eritrea: Inhabitants of Migrah Engage in Construction of Micro-Dam

Mensura — The inhabitants of Migrah village, Mensura sub-zone, are engaged in construction of a micro-dam through mobilizing financial and labor resources.

They further indicated that the undertaking is aimed at securing ample water supply on the basis of enriching underground water resource in the locality, and that the initiative is scheduled 6 days a week.

Among the participants, Mr. Bereketeab Mehari and Ms. Aytimut Haile said that they have also been involved in soil and water conservation activities hand-in-hand with the popular venture, and assured that they would sustain the initiative for a still more gratifying outcome.

Mr. Andom Tesfazgi, in charge of the task's follow-up, disclosed that higher communal participation is being witnessed in communal undertaking 85% of which has been fulfilled.

Mr. Tesfalidet Abraham, Managing director of Tinshaiy Administrative area, stated that the inhabitants have also constructed a 2-km dirt road linking the micro-dam to the village.
