Namibia: Hosts Overpower Omaheke

Home boys Oshikoto, cheered on by a massive and loud crowd of hopeful supporters, had to handle a wave of attacks from the Omaheke Region from the start but prevailed 1 - 0.

After quelling the early pressure from the Cattle Country boys the home team responded and managed to evoke a cacophony of noise from the home crowd.

Both teams tried to maintain a high tempo and Esmond Kheiseb surprised friend and foe when he hit the net for Oshikoto at the stroke of half-time.

With a goal ahead, and the motivation from the home crowd, the hosts peppered their opponents' goal with several attempts but were denied a second goal by Omaheke goalkeeper Umuna Kahiriri.

Omaheke tried their best to come back but could not find the equaliser.

Oshikoto managed to keep the home fans happy with a nervy victory in their first match and the crowd stayed on to cheer on the other regions.

Man of the match Ananias Nakambuli receives his award from Tsumeb Mayor Linekela Shetekela.
