Cairo — Interested candidates have until Sunday evening to submit their documents to officially run for Egypt's upcoming presidential elections.
The Presidential Elections Commission will announce the names of the official candidates on Monday.
Only former army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and leftist politician Hamdeen Sabahi have submitted their documents along with the required endorsements.
According to Egypt's constitution, candidates must collect at least 25,000 endorsements from at least 15 different governorates across the country to officially run for presidency.
Egypt will vote for a new president on May 26 and 27.
