Somalia: AMISOM Sends Reinforcements to Bulo Burde

The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has sent additional troops to Bulo Burde to reinforce peace and security in the area, AMISOM announced Sunday (April 20th). "The additional troops will play a vital role in ensuring the security of the population," said Djiboutian Major Abdourashid Ismail, the operations and planning officer in Sector 4.

The troops' plan is to hold and secure Bulo Burde as security forces expand their area of control into Aborey, Yasaman, Douhoul and Bereyabal. The increased security presence follows the death of 14 soldiers in a car bomb attack outside the Camalow Hotel in Bulo Burde in March.
