Meanwhile, Nigeria's aviation authorities have begun investigation into the cause of the fire outbreak at the control tower of the airport.

Our correspondent reports that aviation officials were seen at the airport yesterday examining the rubble left in the wake of the incident.

Although they declined giving comments on the state of damage, saying a report to that effect would be made public in due course, an airport source who preferred anonymity said the airport's authority have commenced investigation into the fire incident.

The source also informed that normal flight operations have resumedat the airport following a makeshift arrangement by aviation authorities.
