Kenya: Hefty Fines for Destroying Nakuru Streetlights

Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has said motorists will pay hefty fines if they damage a streetlight. "Motorists should be keen. If they hit or damage the newly-installed streetlights, they will pay a hefty fine to the county council before they are even charged in court," he said

Speaking in Nakuru town on Saturday, Mbugua warned residents against vandalising the new streetlights in estates and towns. He said his government has spent billion of shillings to install the streetlights and he will not allow anyone to damage them.
