Kenya: We Dropped the Mini Skirt Motion - Speaker

LAMU county assembly speaker Mohamed Hashim has said the motion to ban mini skirts was not debated as it is unconstitutional. Speaking to the Star on the phone, Hashim dismissed media reports that the assembly will be debating the motion.

He said the story was misreported. Hashim said when the motion was brought before the house, he dropped it as it contravened the constitutional rights of Lamu residents.
