Kenya: Tour Operators' Appeal to State

23 April 2014

TOUR drivers have appealed to the government to differentiate them from PSVs. Kenya Tourist Drivers and Guides Association vice chairman Andrew Mungatana said the new category will save them time and avoid inconveniencing tourists.

Speaking to the Star on the phone yesterday, Mungatana said tour vehicles are registered under tour operator companies, which comply with the traffic laws and regulations. "Our drivers are well-trained, competent and abide by the traffic rules. They cannot travel with clients at night as the tour companies have their own regulations," he said.
