Nigeria: Benue Pensioners Hail Reform

24 April 2014

Makurdi — Pensioners in Benue State have applauded the pension reform and the state government's effort towards clearing outstanding payments owed them.

The commendation is on the heels of yesterday's meeting held in Makurdi with chairmen and secretaries of Nigerian Union of Pensioners' (NUP) from the 23 local government councils of the state with the acting executive secretary of the state's Local Government Pension Board, Mrs. Beatrice Tsavmbu. The pensioners said the prompt payment of their entitlements in recent times was a far departure of what obtained in the past.
