Kenya: Kwale Assembly Passes Motion to Take Back 1,500 Acres From Rancher

THE Kwale government plans to repossess all land in the county whose leases have expired. On Tuesday the assembly passed a motion to repossess 1,500 acres of land allocated to Virji Prebert in Vanga area for ranching.

Kasemeni ward representative Anthony Yama moved the motion yesterday. It was seconded by Tsimba ward representative Swalehe Simba. He said most land leases have expired and it is the right time for the county government to repossess and sub divided to residents.
