Kenya: Painter Killed By Hit-and-Run Car

A painter died after being hit by a car at Nagarariga in Limuru cubcunty yesterday. Peter Karume, 26, was hit by a hit and run car while re-painting the yellow line at the middle of the road.

Residents rushed him to Tigoni District Hospital but nurses recommended his transfer the Kenyatta National Hospital. Karume died on his way to Nairobi forcing the ambulance to return his body to Tigoni.

His father, Daniel Macharia said he was informed of the incident and rushed to Tigoni only to find his son being helped into an ambulance. "But when we were on the way there, my son passed on, he was bleeding too alot. The nurses we were with tried all they could to save him but, he just passed away. We returned back to Tigoni where we placed his body in the hospitals mortuary" Macharia explained.
