Uganda Showcases New One-Stop State Portal

The Ugandan government has called upon its citizens to log onto www.gov.ug to access Uganda's web portal, a new state owned website that will ease the flow of information from its institutions to the general public.

The Portal will host all Government institutions and will help the public to access information from all the Government departments which has been a challenge previously.

The Government web portal is a one stop information centre where the public can access Government information, would-be investors can learn more about opportunities in the country, and tourists can find information about local attractions.

It also includes information on the history of the country, the cabinet and the National events they have on their calendar. Unlike the older site, the new website contains much information about the government and Uganda as a whole.

The new portal was designed by NITA Uganda and is maintained by office of Uganda's prime minister. It covers interesting topics on Uganda's, Agriculture & Food Basket, Art & Entertainment, Education & Sports, Foreign Affairs & Corporation, Trade & Industry, Labour & Employment, Science & Technology, Tourism & Investment and Transport & Telecomunication.
