Angola: Geology and Mining Minister Visits Catoca

Saurimo — The minister of Geology and Mining, Francisco Queiroz, visited on Wednesday the facilities of Catoca Mining Company, aimed to get more details on the diamond exploitation and production process, under the celebrations of National Miners? Day, to be marked on Sunday 27 April.

During a visit to the diamond- mines, diamonds treating facilities, thermal power station, garage, Sagrada Esperanca Village and Mining Transport Compound, the government official was briefed on the functioning and production of the company, as well as its goals.

At the end of the visit, Francisco Queiroz expressed his satisfaction at the organisational and production level of the company and declared that Catoca has a very important role in the development of the national economy, this is why it is the largest diamond company of Angola and the fourth in the world.
