Somalia: Violent Confrontation Erupts in Lower Shabelle Region

A violent confrontation erupted earlier today at Bufow-Bacad, a town in the Lower Shabelle region, between rival militias.

Witnesses explained to Shabelle that two civilians were killed in the clashes, and now that the confrontation stopped, tension remains high in the town.

The reason for the battle still remains unknown although it did cause serious casualties and losses to civilian lives.

Furthermore, armed assailants killed four civilians today in Muri, a neighborhood under the Afgoye town in Lower Shabelle and then making their escape soon after.

The deputy Governor of the Lower Shabelle regional administration for social services reported to Shabelle that the administration's troops are pursuing the murderers.
